Pentaichon

Aggeliki Pardali was born in 1997 in Athens. She comes from a family with deep memories of their origins in Asia Minor and Karpenisi in central Greece. She began piano lessons at six, continuing her musical training to this day with the study of musical theory. She has also played santouri since the age of ten in th company of the renowned player, Ourania Lambropoulou. She has participated in seminars including the Music Village of Pelion with professor Andreas Katsigiannis, and in Rovies, Evia, with Ourania Lambropoulou. At present she is a student at the Department of Musical Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a founding member of the Pentaichon and teaches santouri in KEPEM.


Harry Lygkos was born in 1998 in Athens, and grew up there. From the age of 12 he began his studies at the Music School of Ilion, where he acquired his first knowledge on the fiddle. He was much inspired by the traditional festivals of the island of Ikaria, where he spent his summers as a child. His studies with Kyriakos Gouvendas, Nikos Fakaros, Andreas Preka among other noted musicians, have deepened his understanding of the sounds of Greek regional music. He is one of the founding members of the Pentaichon. In 2016, he graduated from the Music School of Ilion and enrolled in the Department of International, European and Regional Studies of Panteion University.


Panagiotis Skouteris was born in Athens in 1997. He began playing the clarinet since the age of twelve. From the age of sixteen, he began studying the several types of bagpipes which are played in many parts of rural Greece. He has studied next to distinguished folk musicians such as Nikos Filippidis, Giorgos Kotsinis and others. A founding member of "Pentaichon", he has participated in a variety of music-dance performances, concerts and traditional events throughout Greece and abroad. He teaches clarinet in the conservatories of Athens and promotes the traditional style of playing, integrating contemporary techniques and performance styles.


Panagiotis Stathakis was born in 1998 in Athens. At the age of thirteen, he started lute lessons at the Ilion Music School. At the age of fifteen, he began lute lessons with Christos Zotos. In 2014, he attended a seminar of traditional music and chose to focus on the lute after attending the summer seminar the “Arts in the Dodecanese III”. In 2016 he began studying at the Department of Musical Studies, at the Faculty of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.


Konstantinos Karamesios was born in 1997 in Athens. He started studying drums since the age of 8. While studying at Ilion Music School, he focused on traditional percussion. He has systematically studied darbuka, bendir, defi, along with davul and kajon. He continues studying and improving himself as percussionist with well-known musician Yannis Gevgelis and with Konstantinos Kalatzis, a professor at the Ilion Music School. He is now studying at the Department of Economic and Regional Development at Panteion University, while he makes a living through pursuing his career as member of the Pentaichon band.
